Step 1: Bake the Cake
1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
2️⃣ In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3️⃣ In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
4️⃣ Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture. Mix until smooth.
5️⃣ Divide batter evenly into pans and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
6️⃣ Let cakes cool completely before decorating.
Step 2: Make the Buttercream Frosting
1️⃣ Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, mixing well.
2️⃣ Add vanilla and heavy cream, beating until smooth and fluffy.
3️⃣ Set aside a small portion and tint with pink food coloring for the ears and nose.
Step 3: Assemble & Decorate
1️⃣ Place one round cake on a serving plate. Cut two ear-shaped pieces from the second cake and position them as ears.
2️⃣ Frost the entire cake with white buttercream.
3️⃣ Use pink frosting for the inner ears and nose.
4️⃣ Add chocolate chips or candy eyes and a jelly bean nose.
5️⃣ Sprinkle shredded coconut over the cake for a furry bunny effect.
